The first look at merchandise for the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort dropped on Friday on the Disney Parks Blog.
The merchandise is divided into several lines, including a pre-celebration line that launches on August 12th, and a vintage line that pays homage to popular designs from the past of the resort, wtih release dates on or after October 1, 2021.
Both ShopDisney and the resort will be selling products as they get released.
So, how does it look? It's a mixed review, with some items looking fabulous and others that may be at the outlets sooner than Disney hopes.
The pre-celebration line of merchandise looks great and I'm sure the vault (vintage) and celebration lines will be a best seller, the luxe line looks a little awful and the castle collection looks like it could be sold outside of the anniversary.
What will be interesting is to see pricing for these items and which ones are the most popular and what items will make their way online (expecting more than we think will make it online).
Overall, the concepts seem pretty good and I'm sure they'll get much more of my money than I originally thought. August 12th will be an interesting date as we get a full view of the first line of merchandise, especially the pins which weren't teased beyond a very basic EARidescent design.
