BLIZZARD BEACH

Blizzard Beach is a water park close to Disney's Hollywood Studios and the All Star Resorts complex.

The park's backstory is that a snowstorm hit the area on January 11, 1977 which lead to the state's first ski resort.  

​

As the snow did not last long, it created a slushy, watery mess, with snow-less ski jumps and chair lifts. left behind.  

A loud "YAHHOOO!!!"was then heard and a blue alligator (named Ice Gator), wearing a red scarf and gold innertube rushed down the mountain at top speed.  The ski resort was re-named to a water park named Blizzard Beach.

Blizzard Beach has a unique Alpine theme with much of the park named after ski hills (green slope, purple slope, and red slope) with water heated to 80 degrees almost everywhere.
